Samsung might be getting ready to go wider with foldables in more ways than one.
The company is widely expected to launch the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 this year, and a wider version, the Galaxy Z Fold 8Wide, could arrive alongside it.
But that may not be the end of Samsung's plans
A newly surfaced patent also shows the company working on a much more ambitious concept: the Samsung Galaxy Z Tri-FoldWide.
Thanks to our collab with David from @xleaks7, we spotted a Samsung patent that gives us an early look at what this future device could be all about.

fFor now, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Wide looks ike the more realistic next step.
Samsung has stuck with a relatively narrowFold design for years, so a wider version would make a lot of sense.
It could offer a more natural screen shape for apps, videos, reading, and multitasking.
At the same time, this newly leaked patent suggests Samsung is already thinking beyond that.
The company may first bring the wider Folddesign to market, then later take that same idea even further with a tri-fold model.

From what we can see in the patent drawings, this is a three-part foldable with two hinges and a much wider overall shape than the current Galaxy Z Fold.
When fully opened, it looks more like a compact tablet than a tall foldable phone. That alone makes it feel different from Samsung's current Fold lineup.
When folded, the device becomes a stacked form factor with one section still visible on the outside.
That outer part appears to work as the main cover display, while the back houses a triple-camera setup.
The design also shows side buttons, a thick frame, and a structure that looks built to support multiple folding positions.
One of the most interesting details is the tent-style mode.
Samsung shows the device standing on its own in a triangular shape, which could make it useful for watching videos, showing widgets, checking notifications, or even using it like a mini desk display.
